About Jiří

Before setting up Z/C/H Legal in 2005, Jiří spent four years working as a senior attorney at an international law firm in Prague.

He has had significant experience advising clients in the construction, maintenance and lease of shopping malls and retail parks. He also represents several anchor tenants, such as Intersport.

Among others, he advised Signa, a German real estate fund, concerning the acquisition of “The Park” office park in Prague – Chodov, placing the office park in a closed real estate fund in Germany; and he advised on its subsequent sale. The total value of this transaction exceeding EUR 235 milion.


Jiří has advised international e-shops such as Quelle, Consortio Fashion and Bakker in their actives on the Czech market as well as their expansion into Central and Eastern Europe. He has also represented a Czech buyer in the acquisition of a major e-shop from 3SI Group, a member of Otto Group.

In addition, he has supported many clients applying for subsidies from national and EU funding programs, aimed at improving both the firms’ competitiveness and each business as a whole.

Jiří has provided legal advisory for many international clients in their acquisition of Czech companies, specialising in the retail, automotive and forestry sectors.

He provides franchising legal advisory to local and international clients covering, among others, the fast food, real estate, health and beauty, convenience store, and IT sectors. He particularly focuses on Czech start-ups and fast growing franchise systems and the entry of major international franchisees into the Czech market.

Jiří regularly gives lectures on franchising, the most prestigious of which occurs annually at the Franchise Day Prague conference held by the Czech Franchising Institute. He is also the franchising lecturer at the European Centre for Career Education.

He is often quoted in magazines and newspapers on various domestic and international franchising topics.
