The Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic has proceeded to digitalization of court files

On September 1, 2018, the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic launched an internet application called NaSpis, which will make available to lawyers the documents in the files of the Constitutional Court.

The main reason for the digitalization of documents is in particular the shortening of court proceedings and reducing the parties‘ costs of representation before the Constitutional Court. According to the legislation in force, a legal trainee cannot be authorized to inspect files at the Constitutional Court and a lawyer must be present there in person or he/she must be represented by his/her colleague – another lawyer.

In fact, the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic is the very first judicial authority to proceed with digitalization of its files. However, the remote access to court files via the NaSpis application will only concern the court proceedings commenced at the Constitutional Court after the application has been launched, i.e. after September 1, 2018.
